Divorce For Men, How to Break Free of Your Own Destructive Thoughts and Take Charge of Your Divorce

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

By Renee Pullman

The deck is stacked against men in divorce court. Just last week an acquittance was shutdown by the judge and not fully allowed to tell his story. He had gotten angry, did something stupid, and now his battle is even more uphill.

In dissolving a marriage, emotions are all wrapped around your future and it is tough to see right from wrong. You want to take action and protect your family all the while it is being torn apart by the woman that you loved, or perhaps still do love. You want to protect that relationship and it is painful that it is being torn up.

The facts are you need to protect your future. There is a life for you on the other side of the divorce but not if you throw it away with self-destructive behavior, stupid actions, and doing things to take care of her. Face it – she is out for herself.

What you need to do now is slow your thoughts down and trust.

How do you slow your thoughts down?

The easiest way I know is thought replacement. Your mind is racing off on a tragic end to everything and that is all you can see or think of. This is where you replace that thought with an answer. If you are religious then follow Norman Vincent Peale’s ideas about using scriptures. Your response might b e “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.” Not religious, not Christian, no problem, the same strategy works with great quotes that have meaning for you. Great quotes like Emerson’s: “do the thing and you shall have the power,” or Perseus, “he conquers who endures.” Find some meaningful quotes that empower you and use them over and over, as needed, to answer these destructive thoughts. Do this because you need to take smart action and not action out of fear or anger. You need this to anchor you and to keep you looking forward.

Now that you are managing yourself, begin to think of what you want out of this, what you need to support your new life. Take this information and begin to manage your divorce, manage your lawyer. Don’t think you can get a satisfactory outcome by outsourcing your divorce to your attorney, no, no, no. Attorneys are busy and you need to stay on top of it to be sure it is done correctly.

Divorce For Men, Speak to the Anger, Avoid That Testosterone Moment

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

By Renee Pullman

Divorce for men can be all uphill. If you are involved in divorce the feelings that come out from this can be so intense that you may feel like you are about to be emasculated. At that time, many men lash out in anger – they have a testosterone moment and divorce rage erupts.

This anger could range from throwing the new flat-screen TV through the window, to taking a ball bat to the car headlights so she can’t leave, taking a friend with you to push your way into her new apartment to get some things straight, to a black eye, and other such inappropriate behavior. The thing is this type of behavior is just what she needs to in essence emasculate you in a legal way by having you arrested and humiliating you in court. If there is ever a time that you need to rein in emotions and testosterone reactions it is in a divorce situation when you are feeling the most burdened down, the most like you want to do something. The something you must do is control the emotions, but how?

I’ve talked previously about finding power phrases to keep you centered and help you avoid depression, the same kind of response can handle this. The most common way of describing this activity is self-talk.

What kinds of things do you say to yourself?

Most of us have a more or less constant conversations going on with ourselves. We get a break when we are asleep, at a movie, a concert, or other entertainment. It lessens when we are at work or otherwise concentrating and yet it is there. The voices that come up occasionally are new thoughts or inspiration but for most these kinds of thoughts are blocked by the negative voices within. Perhaps by expressions we heard from our families, or from being called names when we were young. Worst of all is our own voices of condemnation when we have failed at something, or didn’t approach a person we were interested in, or take the deal we should have taken because we were afraid.

Some silence those voices by destructive behavior, others can’t get past it and don’t sleep well, and many other less than useful ways. If you are involved in divorce perhaps the voices condemn you for your failings in the relationship, maybe you become the last guy, or last woman that anyone would ever want and all is lost.

When these conversations in your head erupt you need to be ready to answer? You don’t even have to believe these answers when you start as long as they convey a positive message and a positive answer for you. You will come to believe them and come to take positive action on them. Your homework for this article is consider what you want post-divorce and find some dialog to answer the negatives with. Get a motivational quotes book and pull some quotes out that speak to you and have them ready to add to and control this inner dialog with.

So when you are about to take a ball bat to her car or throw the TV out the window have an answer ready – you do not have to act in an insane way that will entrap you, you don’t have to act in a way that will figuratively emasculate you at the end of the divorce.

You need to learn the words to say to yourself to rein things in and put yourself in control. You can take control of yourself and your divorce. This doesn’t mean that everything that happens will be exactly to your liking, but if you take charge of yourself, your life, and your divorce you can get an outcome that you will like.

Successful divorce for men starts with the mental game, it means learning the steps of the process so you never feel lost, it means the mental game and what to say to yourself, it means learning the strategies and tactics that will produce a winning outcome: http://www.formendivorce.com/

Build a Backyard Chicken Coop – Enjoy Eggs, Some Good Pets, and a Natural Grass-Cutting Machine

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

By Renee Pullman

Many have become interested in raising chickens in their backyards. Chickens are inexpensive to raise and feed and if you like eggs they can supply all of your needs. In the process you will find that these wonderful birds are friendly and make great pets.

Did you know that a healthy chicken (hen) can lay up to 300 eggs a year, give the chickens the weekend off and that is one a day. If you have four people in your household who each like to eat two eggs per day and likewise take weekends off from eating eggs then you need 8 chickens to supply your needs. When you figure the amount of coop space a chicken needs, 4 sq feet, this calculates to a 4X8 coop combine this with a little extra area and make it 4X12. This size is not unreasonable for most backyards.

Chicken coops can be quite expensive to buy and you probably won’t want to pay that kind of price, happily building your own coop is not difficult. There are decisions and considerations to make and if you have not raised chickens before you may not be ready to make them. The good news is that there are plenty of plans and information. These plans are easily available, simple, and will supply you the information that you need even if you have not raised chickens or any kind of live animal before.

So if you’ve caught the vision of raising your own chickens and agree that the coop size works for your yard then you are probably wondering what you need to design into your coop to provide the best environment for your chickens. Coop plans hold the answers for you. You will find that it takes only minimal tools and construction skills such that almost anyone can build a great coop. You will also find it possible to use materials that are surplus or used and these things also can provide big cost savings for you.

After settling on the size, based on 2 square feet per bird, and after you have decided on the style and located suitable plans, you next need to consider where to locate your coop. It should be in an area where it can get adequate ventilation and where it is protected from predators. For the best harvest of eggs your chickens should feel secure and happy. That is right, just like people your chickens work best when they feel their needs, security, food, and even a sense of happiness are provided.

Raising chickens and harvesting your own fresh eggs is something that many find rewarding. Build a chicken coop. Find the best plans and information, click the link or just visit http://www.squidoo.com/BuildAGreatChickenCoop.

Doubt and The Law of Attraction, Must I Banish All Doubt To Use The Law of Attraction?

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

By Renee Pullman

Many tell us that all doubt should be banished in order to successfully use the law of attraction. They tell us that no good can come if there is even a shred of doubt in us regarding the use of the law. Yet this does a serious disservice to those who would pick up the law.

The first illustration that shows the error of this is from the Christian faith, you do not have to be Christian to get the concept.

Jesus, The Law of Attraction And Doubt

Make no mistake the law of attraction is embedded in the Christian Faith as it is in many others. We don’t see it because it has been conditioned out of us. Open your eyes and consider that many have discussed Jesus use of the law of attraction. He saw the things He wanted to manifest and spoke them into existence. Before you tell me that Jesus was a special case, let me remind you of something He said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12.

Ok you might say but Jesus never had a doubt?

Is that true? Check this out, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Mathew 27:46

Sounds like a moment of doubt, does it not?

To require absence of doubt would make the law impossible for anyone to use except for someone with a lobotomy and who no longer has his own thoughts.

Abraham Lincoln, Perseverance In The Face Of Serious Doubt

Another example is Abraham Lincoln whose overwhelming objective at the beginning of the American Civil war was to preserve the Union. The Union had overwhelming resources, a much bigger army, in short every advantage and yet until the last year of the war there were very few significant battles truly won by the Union. And here is something else that speaks to Lincolns character. Before the 1864 election, because of all the losses and bad news, because to most it seemed the war would never end, Lincoln was one of those who believed that he would not win the 1864 election. He believed this meant that the next President would end the war without victory. Lincoln not only believed it but spoke of it to his inner circle.

In spite of the doubt Lincoln continued on toward his objectives. And literally just before the election there was no indication that he would win. Then some battles were won, and the tide turned. Lincolns opponent in the election was a General he had fired early in the war, George McClellan. The soldiers love McClellan, he had been in charge of all Union forces when the war began and was well loved. In spite of all this, the Union Army voted overwhelmingly for Lincoln who in spite of great doubts carried on and not only won the election but saved the American Republic.

Steps On The Road To Activating The Law of Success

By Renee Pullman

The law of success guarantees each of us who seek self-knowledge, who work at improving themselves, who build their self-confidence a success that is unequaled by common man. The common man is the man who doesn’t strive to better themselves.

The Common Man, Failure Designed In

The common man walks through life asleep because he doesn’t know and hasn’t found a better way. His life is made up of the motions of life but like so many others he is walking down the cattle trail following in the direction of so many others who will live and die but never reach their potentials.

Some common men actually wake for a time but come to believe that they can never accomplish the things they seek to do. Emerson said,

Every artist was first an amateur.

Emerson meant you pick something up but those who will be successful will take the time to learn it and understand it. Others seek to be the best from the beginning and will soon give it up. The old adage is true, you must learn to crawl before you can walk.

The Uncommon, What Woke this Young Woman, And Prompted Her On To Fame?

Wilma Rudolph, the great Olympic star who could only walk with a leg brace after polio. Her family continued to encourage her until her desire to walk was so great that she sneaked out to practice walking and wound up a great Olympic Runner. It was not facts in her life that created her achievement. It was the power of the thoughts in her mind and her self-discoveries that compelled her to walk and later compelled her to make a contribution to sports.

Notice Wilma Rudolph was not given permission to do anything and had one of the biggest road blocks a person destined to be a world class runner could have, crippling polio. But her desire to succeed was built to such a level by her families encouragement and by herself that she has shown us the great power of our minds and spirit to overcome what would seem to be the impossible.

Activating The Law of Success Begins In Your Mind

Every great act or accomplishment always begins with an idea. Imagine, a single idea is behind every great accomplishment. Napoleon Hill who was the best known success writer of the 20th century popularized the ideas by saying: “Everything the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve.” This is the challenge to you to activate that place in your mind, in your should that will allow you great success and allow you to achieve the uncommon.

The law of success is within you waiting for activation. Click the link or visit http://www.TherealMikeGriffin.com/Proctor and discover more about the law of success and other forgotten laws.

Why You Should Quit Smoking – Quit Smoking Facts and Advice

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

By Renee Pullman

One of the biggest problems with smoking is that the damage to our bodies takes place over such a long time that it doesn’t seem real to those whom it is killing.

Smoking, The Leading Cause of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

  1. Shortness of breath
  2. Coughing Up Mucus
  3. fatigue

These are three symptoms that most smokers will run up against either at a younger or older age. I have seen men as young as their mid thirties on inhaled steroids attempting to treat the symptoms of the disease.

No Cure For COPD

COPD develops so slowly that those who are getting it are unaware. After time they realize they are tired and perhaps wheezing when they breathe. Treatment may ease the symptoms but that is all. There is not much left for the doctor to tell you except that you have killed yourself. Your realization is that you have paid a great deal of money to do this.

Because COPD is such a slow moving disease if you quit in the early stages you stand a good chance of living out a normal life. If you quit smoking in later changes you can greatly slow and in some cases stop the progress of the disease.

Slow Death of Suffocation

A big problem that smokers have as the disease progresses is that they become more and more vulnerable to colds, flu, bronchitis, pneumonia. COPD leaves them with lowered lung capacity and allows these illnesses to do more damage to the lungs and further curtail the ability to breathe.

Many smokers die after a bout with bronchitis or pneumonia. Their lungs so weak that they struggle for air. Some have a difficult recovery, while others may find themselves on a respirator, a machine to breathe for them. If either of these groups make it home they may well find themselves on oxygen machines, their lungs unable to pull enough oxygen from the air for them to stay alive. This will buy time, it will improve quality of life for a time as in the end your loved ones will have to watch you die, before your time, with nothing to be done about it.

Quit Smoking And Save Your Life

Quitting smoking will begin to erase some of the damages to your body. Often damage to the lungs can be slowed or reduced by stopping and developing a healthful life style that includes proper exercise to expand your breathing capacity.

The desire to quit smoking along with the conviction that you can quit will go a long way to helping you be successful in quitting smoking.

When you are serious about quitting smoking get the quit smoking facts, a good plan and a methodology. Visit http://quitsmokingfacts.us/ and take the next steps to your freedom from this addiction.

Self Improvement, Success, And The Law of Attraction

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

By Renee Pullman

How much control do you have in your life? Is it all a game of chance or are there things that you can do that will improve your life?

Think about that, many whine over their condition in life but never sit down to figure out what they might be able to do different that would change their lives. What actions, what thoughts can you take that would improve your situation. I’m sure you can see easily enough lots of things that would make you worse off. What if you quit your job, no matter how menial it may be, what would happen – would you be better off or worse off. Most would answer worse off because they would lose their income and find it difficult to live.

The bottom line here is if you can make your life worse by quitting then by the same token you are making your life better by maintaining the job. Ask yourself, what else should I be doing to make my life better? Begin to put your imagination into this by seeing where you want to be in a year, in five years. If you keep this quest for the future in mind ideas will begin to come and you should write them down for daily review. As you review begin to make vivid pictures and see your self in them. Make it sensory rich, see yourself, feel the things you would feel, smell the smells, truly become a part of the picture.

The law of attraction tells us that this is the first step in putting the law into action in your life. You will find success coaches will give similar advice for success. Next write down the thoughts that this vision generates. These thoughts may only be enhancements at first, but your mind is a powerful, beautiful thing and soon it will present you with ideas. Ideas that will give you a definite course of action. When these thoughts come begin to act on them. View the actions in the context of the vision. The vision will help you work through the parts that may be challenging and it will act as a rudder to keep you going in the right direction.

These actions will not only be doing things directly related to the vision (or goal) but you may find a good number of things may be in the line of self improvement or building a better you so that you are up to the vision that you are now well on your way to. This is the law of attraction and it has been called one of the forgotten laws because many fail to recognize or believe this law that is there if we would just open our eyes and see it.

Taking Responsibility And The Law of Attraction

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

By Renee Pullman

Do you take responsibility for your life? Is your success or failure in your hands or are they just something that blows into your life?

Take Responsibility, You Determine Success In Your Life

What determines whether you achieve your dreams. If you get right down to things you will discover that it is you. Do you give up when obstacles come between you and your dreams or do you find a way around. Are you committed to achieving you dreams or are you ready to roll over when there is a setback.

Don’t give up. Quitting is a habit and it is a habit you cannot afford if your dreams are important. Quitting is a choice. A man who certainly had every right to quit was Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War. The easiest thing in the world would have been for him to stop and make peace with the South. But he chose to keep moving forward even in the days where the war looked impossible and personal tragedy swirled around him.

Lincoln lost his young son Willie early in the war to typhoid fever and yet Lincoln continued in his resolve to bring the Union back together despite the fact that his Generals wouldn’t press on, despite the fact that Robert E Lee was kicking his army in the ass, and all of the other obstacles that were thrown before him.

Lincoln was considered a political hack by many when he came to the White House but the same men who labeled him that had seen his greatness by the end of the war.

Can You Commit To Moving Forward And Taking Responsibility For Your Life?

And so it is with anyone who takes responsibility for his success and failure. He must grow as he pushes through, over, or around all of the blocks that come between him/her and his goal.

Can you commit to pressing ever forward? This forward direction will mean that the law of attraction will work for you. This is because you cannot press forward unless you know where forward is and you can see it and this allows you to maintain all 3 steps of the law.

  1. Visualize your goal
  2. Collect the ideas that the vision generates
  3. Act on those ideas

The Law of Attraction Will Enhance Your Dreams

It may be that you do not know everything about what you will ultimately accomplish, it may be that you only have a small piece of the vision when you start. This is how it usually is and that vision you have is what you work toward. As you approach it, as you climb up to it you see farther until you will probably find yourself accomplishing more than you ever realized was possible. This progressive realization of your dreams will make your life interesting and exciting while providing all of your needs.

The law of attraction is one of the fundamental laws in the universe that governs mankind. The law of attraction picks up your vision and helps you run with it.

The law of attraction is one of several forgotten laws that work in our lives. Begin to use it and cultivate it and it will bring you farther in lfe than you can ever imagine.
